Mama Suka Toppoki Review

Welcome! This blog is run by

Today, we'll be reviewing Mama Suka's Original Sweet & Spicy Flavoured Toppoki. Topokki is a typical South Korean snack made from chewy rice cakes (tteok). The benefits of topokki include a long-lasting source of energy, aiding weight loss by boosting metabolism, and supporting heart health thanks to the capsaicin content in gochujang. Furthermore, topokki can provide nutrients like iron and vitamin B6, which help prevent anemia and improve mood.

We bought it at around 20k each so in total we spent 40k for 2. They were relatively easy to make, throw in the toppoki and sauce, boil for 2 minutes, done. Though, we decided to boil it for 4 minutes since after 2 minutes it didn't look right. We combined 2 of the packets into 1 when cooking for convenience then split it into 3 more bowls. The sauce tasted amazing but the consistency was quite watery. The toppoki itself tasted very good as well but was a bit too stiff. Overall we enjoyed the toppoki.

Alexa : "9/10, soupy"
Bella : "9/10, the flavour was nice, barely spicy. Texture was a little hard for the amount of time it says to cook it for. The sauce was also too soupy."
Devia : "9/10, the soup was really tasty but honestly the sesame seeds didn't do much, didn't taste them at all actually. Overall, great for 20k a pack, would buy again."
